So it is officially my first full day in FRANCE! It is still hard to believe that it came this fast and that I am actually in Europe. I have never traveled out of the country before this trip and am really excited to be here! Both flights went well and I did not have any problems thankfully! When we finally got to Ambialet, Jen and I spent the afternoon and evening unpacking and organizing our room. The view from our bedroom window is amazing!
Today, our second day here, has been a lot of fun so far with some of the best girls ever! We went to the supermarket, which is pretty much the "Wal-Mart of France." We really didn't need anything, we just wanted to go for the experience! I got to spend my first euros there on some really delicious looking pastries! There are some pretty funny stories from the supermarket! Just ask Katie Chelko about her weird French man! I'm pretty sure everyone was starring at us and knew we were American.
When we got back from the supermarket, we took our dog, Jay-Z for a walk and played with the kitties that also live here at the monastery. Thank goodness for Jay-Z so I have a furry companion when I miss my Macie and Sadie at home. Jen and I named the cats Lucy and Babe. Let's just say Babe can be pretty fierce when he wants to be.
We did not walk the whole way down to the village of Ambialet today, but are going to do that tomorrow. We have mass tomorrow morning, then have the day to do whatever we want. It will be the last day before classes start on Monday. At mass, we get to meet the people that live in Ambialet. They told us that the people who come to mass will be so excited to see us!
Right now I am going to go hang out with some of the girls until dinner so we can have some more fun and adventures!
